5 Ways to Enjoy 'Black Panther' Beyond the Movie

Showing your support for Marvel's 'Black Panther' goes deeper than copping a movie ticket.

This weekend, there's no doubt that Marvel's long-awaited Ryan Coogler-directed Black Panther is going to light the box office ablaze. It's already on pace to hit ~$170 million during its opening weekend, which means a lot of asses will be packed into a lot of seats.

The thing is, just going to see the film won't be enough for many; to fully celebrate what it means to have this black superhero hitting theaters in this type of film during Black History Month? You're more than likely going to want to make the Black Panther a part of more than just your favorite movies list of 2018.

Given how hard Disney has been pushing Black Panther globally, we're seeing a number of intriguing new ways to have the film turn into the movement many of us have been waiting for. That movement has gotten to be bigger than the movie we're going to be taking in this weekend; it's what we're wearing, what we're drinking, and what we're listening to. It's our lives, at least for the time being.

For anyone looking to make the Black Panther a bigger part of their lives than it already is, here's a look at all of the ways you can do so.

Listen to 'Black Panther: The Album'

'Black Panther: The Album' cover

Released on Feb. 9 was Black Panther: The Album, a 14-track release from Kendrick Lamar and the good folks at TDE. The Weeknd and Kendrick collab "Pray for Me" is sitting at No. 7 on the Hot 100, while the full release is set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list. While only a few of the tracks are actually featured in the film, it's a strong, cohesive release that vibes well with the film overall. And if you're looking for the full score, don't fret; Ludwig Göransson's Black Panther score will be released digitally on Feb. 16.

Throw a Black Panther case on your phone

Marvel Studios linked up with Lexus to create two custom LC 500 cats that are inspired by Black Panther, which you can see in one action-packed scene featuring the Black Panther riding on one through the streets of South Korea. Or you saw the Lexus Super Bowl spot, which utilized that scene to show off the whip more clearly.

If your tax check cleared, maybe you should think about copping an LS 500 to shout Lexus out on the Afrofuturism-infused design. Or, maybe you can just cop Black Panther: Soul of a Machine, which is a special comic book made inspired by the collaboration.

Buy some 'Black Panther'-inspired footwear

Puma x Bait x Marvel 'Black Panther'

With sneaker culture alive and well, it's wise for Marvel to make some strides into the world of footwear. With Black Panther making its way into theaters, there are three dope collabs that you might need to get your hands on.

Bait collaborated with Puma and Marvel for a batch of limited run Black Panther-influenced kicks. There were 300 Tsugi BOG pairs and 100 Mostro Mids created; while a raffle for these ended on Feb. 10, you can more than likely cop on StockX.

Clarks and Marvel also got together to create a Black Panther-inspired pair of limited edition Trigenic Evo shoes. They feature premium leather with limited edition boxes with a dope Black Panther logo on the heel. These limited edition shoes are back in stock for both men and women, with a $240 price tag.

Finally, Marvel and New Balance locked horns for some limited edition shoes. These Black Panther collabs are in both the 574 and 990 models, and are a dope blend of the overall black flavor of Black Panther's outfit with accents of silver throughout. Although they originally dropped via Jimmy Jazz on February 9, a larger release will be going down on February 16 via New Balance's website, so don't freeze.
