We all know Leslie Jones as the hilarious SNL cast member with a talent for live-tweeting things like Game of Thrones or the Olympic Games and making them even better than they were to begin with. On Tuesday, Jones put the comedy to the side and opened up on her Instagram account about some major insecurities.

Jones posted a photo of herself in workout gear, and in the caption, she wrote, “back to cardio. But confession I feel like I’m doing it for nothing.” Although she noted that she is “healthy” and “look good,” Jones said it was hard to know what all the hard work was for “if the people you want to notice don’t. I just feel like I might die alone.”

She also shared the same photo with the same caption on her Twitter account. Jones didn’t go into further detail about who it was she wanted to notice her, but the fact that Jones shared it on her social media feeds is a reality check in the midst of other impossibly-happy photos from celebrities and influencers.

However, Jones’ fans really stepped up to show her some love after her heartbreaking post. Many people both on Instagram and Twitter rushed to express their love of the star’s work and offer words of encouragement for the future in a way that was truly inspiring.

Leslie. I'm a minister + I can tell you that everyone dies alone. Be healthy for you. Don't give so much power to men or objects of desire. Be your own romance. Get your own power back. I'm rooting for you.
Do it for you, gorgeous. You are loved.
I have refrained from telling you on Twitter how impressive this has been to me and how great you look, only because I thought it might be weird. It's totally possible those people have noticed, even if they haven't told you. You're doing great. Go go go!
You're allowed to feel emotional. But remember, the most important thing is NOT doing this for anyone else but yourself. Because when you are happy, you will become like a magnet, attracting what you need. By the way, you amaze me each and every time I see you do anything.
Thank you for sharing this and being real. You’re letting tons of people see that we ALL have the same recurring thoughts and issues. That aside, you’re a goddess and an inspiration! ❤️
NO one as funny as you dies alone. YOU are beautiful. It’s not about your body - that’s a shell we have to keep healthy to feel good and stay alive. As long as you’re healthy it’s all good. You’ve made amazing changes already.
I was thinking of you and how excited I am for your commentary on the 2018 Winter Olympics. You’re not alone you bring joy to many people including me!
i love you i will marry you
