The first look at the six-part documentary series centered on the death of Trayvon Martin was released on Monday, exactly six years after the fatal shooting that ended the young teen’s life. Watch the trailer above.

Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story is being premiered on television through Paramount Network in July. The series was executive produced by Jay Z and is base off the book Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin written by Martin’s parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.

Martin’s death in 2012 generated outrage and protests, and became one of several horrifying incidents that sparked the global Black Lives Matter movement, which is dedicated to combating police brutality and the fatal violence that disproportionately affects all black people. The 17-year-old was murdered by neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman in Florida. Zimmerman claimed self defense and was acquitted, even though Martin was unarmed and carrying nothing but an Arizona ice tea and a bag of skittles at the time. Martin would have been 23 today.

Since Martin’s death, Jay Z continues to honor the teen’s legacy and advocate against gun violence. Jay won a bidding war for the rights to the project back in March 2017, and originally teamed up with the Weinstein company to produce the series. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein allegations, it was unclear how the docuseries would be affected, but it appears that the project is still on track for its summer release.

Rest In Power premieres in July on Paramount Network.
