For all its hype among people who actually like to spend their time playing vaguely confessional games, Truth or Dare? is kind of a snore. For Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow's upcoming Truth or Dare, however, the stakes are a bit higher.

Truth or Dare is being promoted as a "supernatural thriller" centered on a seemingly friendly round of Truth or Dare? that promptly turns fatal, immediately upping the game's entertainment value for all involved. Apparently, this take on the usually uneventful game includes punishment for anyone who decides to tell a lie and/or skip out on a dare. The prospective hit stars Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Hayden Szeto (The Edge of Seventeen), and Nolan Gerard Funk (Glee). Wadlow penned the script with Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach (Non-Stop) from a Michael Reisz-assisted story.

If you're gearing up to completely rip this movie to shreds, hit the pause button. Truth or Dare is another Blumhouse Productions release. Blumhouse's 2017 slate boasted critically lauded entries like Get Out, Happy Death Day, and Split. Get Out—written and directed by Jordan Peele—is up for two Golden Globes at Sunday's Seth Meyers-hosted ceremony in Beverly Hills. If Truth or Dare is even one-fourth as good as Blumhouse's 2017 highlights, we're in for quite a treat.

At any rate, Truth or Dare hits theaters April 27 whether you want it to or not.
