The inevitableSlender Man movie now has a trailer. Not to be confused with last year's Beware the Slenderman documentary, The Losers director Sylvain White's take gives Eric Knudsen's myth-turned-meme the full-on cinematic treatment.

White's film centers on a small Massachusetts town where four teen girls try to disprove Slender Man's realness by stupidly performing a ritual, a decision that plays out about as well as you'd expect. Ultimately, one of the girls disappears, inspiring slender panic in the community. Javier Botet (It's rotting Leper) stars as the man of slenderness himself.

We first heard that Mr. Man was going Hollywood in way back in May 2016. As previously announced, David Birke (13 Sins) penned the presumably R-rated script. Catch Slender Man at a theater perilously close to you starting May 18. Jaz Sinclair, Julia Goldani Telles, Joey King, and Annalise Basso also star.

Last year's HBO doc Beware the Slenderman is a must-watch for anyone prepping for May. In an interview with Complex following the film's SXSW premiere, director Irene Taylor Brodsky broke down some of the bizarre experiences that surrounded the film's production. "[My editor] would just have a lot of dreams, a lot of bad dreams," she said. "Sometimes she felt like he was in the edit room. Sometimes she would lock the door of the edit room. Sometimes she would sleep overnight in the edit room because she didn't want to leave the building."
