Netflix isn't fucking around in 2018. On New Year's Eve, the streaming giant dropped two new Dave Chappelle stand-up specials. The first day of a year that will hopefully be at least nominally better than 2017 also saw the addition of the original Batman franchise, the Godfather trilogy, and much more to Netflix's already stacked catalog of hits. Now, we have an official release date for the relatable titled The End of the Fucking World.

"I'm James," star Alex Lawther (Black Mirror) says at the top of Monday's new trailer. "I'm 17 and I'm pretty sure I'm a psychopath."

The End of the Fucking World is based on Charles S. Forsman's acclaimed graphic novel of the same name and is described by Netflix as the "darkly comic" story of a teen road trip. Lucy Tcherniak and Jonathan Entwistle are directing from an adaptation by Charlie Covell (Misfits). The eight-episode series, a Netflix and E4 collaboration, debuted overseas via Channel 4 back in October.

Alongside the new trailer, Netflix announced Monday that season 1 of the series—also starring Jessica Barden, Steve Oram, and Gemma Whelan—will premiere stateside Jan. 5. Add it to your queue. A season 2 pickup has not yet been confirmed.

The series joins Netflix's expanding roster of co-productions, which already boasts El Chapo, Alias Grace, Degrassi: Next Class, and many more.
