Last Week Tonight With John Oliver will be returning to your screens on February 18. Our favorite British host's dry wit will be with us for another couple years too, as HBO has renewed the late-night talk and news show's contract through 2020.

Pegged as a satirical news show, Oliver uses his humor to call out public figures in politics, entertainment, and more. During the last season, he gave a 21-minute refresher course on the Confederacy, if you ever needed a reminder of its horrors.

But Oliver challenges people both on and off the camera. Recently, he confronted Dustin Hoffman on sexual harassment allegations during a panel for the 20th anniversary of the movie Wag the Dog. Later, Hoffman's accusers—a total of seven women—wrote a letter, thanking Oliver.

Though Last Week Tonight is just short of four years old, it has already become immensely popular. Since 2014,the HBO show has won eight Primetime Emmys and two Writers Guild Awards, as well as a Peabody Award and Critic's Choice Television Award. Similarly formatted to The Daily ShowLast Week Tonight is TV's sole news-focused comedy show that broadcasts on Sunday's.

Prior to hosting Last Week Tonight, Oliver was the senior British correspondent for The Daily Show With Jon Stewart from 2006 until 2013, and hosted his own stand-up series on Comedy Central called John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show. Oliver will be starring alongside Beyoncé and Donald Glover in the highly anticipated remake of The Lion King, as the voice of Zazu.
