Gigi and Bella Hadid are set to appear on the March issue of British Vogue. The covers will be the first time the two supermodel sisters will have appeared on dual covers of a magazine. For the cover, the two sisters pose in identical gold chainmail Versace dresses. Vogue also shared another photo that is not on the cover, and that second picture is fueling some strong reactions on social media.

.@GiGiHadid on @bellahadid in the March issue of #NewVogue: “She’s one of the only people I’ll get aggressive for. She makes me so proud. I would do anything for her” https://t.co/IEzjItBMp8 pic.twitter.com/JWUU4wFHRQ— British Vogue (@BritishVogue) January 30, 2018
People had two principal issues with the black and white photo, which was shot by photographer Steven Meisel. Some felt it was creepy to see sisters Gigi, 22, and Bella, 21, pictured naked together, and holding one another. Secondly, some felt that both of their faces, but particularly Bella’s, had been overly retouched.
This photo of the Hadid sisters is making me super uncomfortable pic.twitter.com/9FvxYntg7h— la bella vita (@tiredofrumors) January 30, 2018
really disappointed with @BritishVogue 's uncomfortable image of @GiGiHadid and @bellahadid. These sisters are doing so well in their careers only for Vogue to sexualise a sibling relationship in the most creepy and non-artistic way. Would you ever put two famous brothers naked..— Ami (@_ami1010) January 30, 2018
Must you fetishise them? Talented women. No need to be naked to pique our interest.— Sarah Southern (@sarahsouthern) January 30, 2018
Everyone is so right on both counts. First, I don't like this trend of models posing naked when it is supposed to be about fashion, i.e. clothing! Secondly it is definitely inappropriate to have sisters posing naked together.— Jacob Dunbar (@Fashiomista2017) January 30, 2018
Is it just me or is two sisters photographed sitting closely together naked just a little weird?— DC101 (@DC101) January 30, 2018
gross that their faces were photoshopped to this extent. super gross that two siblings were asked to pose like this.— juwayriyya (@mutantpasta) January 30, 2018
This seems so heavily photoshopped, their faces look completely different! 🙈— Tribe Magazine (@Tribethemag) January 30, 2018
They went overboard with the photoshop on Bella's face. She is naturally gorgeous there is no need for editing :/ https://t.co/obK6qDL1tc— Rim (@collinsxvogue) January 30, 2018
That doesnt look like Bella...— ArtBić 🎨🎗 (@SoKretesss) January 30, 2018
In the accompanying interview, Gigi speaks about going house-hunting for Bella. “I feel like that is symbolic of my entire life. To watch over Bella,” she said. “She's one of the only people I'll get aggressive for. She makes me so proud. I would do anything for her.”
Edward Enninful has newly taken over as editor-in-chief of British Vogue, becoming the first black and first male to hold the postion with the publication. He made a strong promise to increase diversity in the magazine. “My Vogue is about being inclusive, it’s about diversity,” Enninful said. “You are going to see all different colours, shapes, ages, genders, religions. That I am very excited about.” Enninful’s first issue featured Adwoa Aboah.
