Fans are decidedly not pleased that Wonder Woman was snubbed by the Oscars this year. However, the film’s star, Gal Gadot, is handling the snub with Jedi-level grace. “I was very moved and touched by the feedback of all the people that were disappointed that Wonder Woman wasn’t nominated,” Gadot told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday. “But we certainly never did the movie for that. I think that you can’t have it all. We’ve done this movie and it was received in such an amazing, wonderful way, and we want to stay humble and grateful, and we’re going to have another movie, so who knows? Maybe the next one!”

Imagine if the president had as much tact when he spoke in public. Anyway, after a year that in many would say was defined by female empowerment, the fact that Patty Jenkins’ hit was noticeably MIA from the nominations did not go unnoticed. Historically the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has never been much for comic book movies, yet Logan managed to pick up a screenplay nom this year. So WTF gives, guys?

Speaking of Wonder Woman 2, the film is set for release on December 13, 2019. The second installment of the franchise will take place in America. It will also be the first film made in accordance the new set of Anti-Sexual Harassment Guidelines set forth by the Producer’s Guild of America. That’s way more groundbreaking than a silly statue…of a man, I might add.
