Dennis Rodman was arrested last night in Newport Beach, CA for driving under the influence.

TMZ reports that police stopped the 56-year-old NBA retiree on 4500 West Coast Highway around 11 p.m. on Saturday (January 13th) for an unspecified driving infraction. He was then asked to take a breathalyzer test, which he agreed to and subsequently failed. Cops determined he blew a blood-alcohol level greater than the legal limit of .08.

Rodman was then taken into custody and held at the local jail overnight until he sobered up. He was released around 6:00 a.m. this morning without bail.

The five-time NBA champion has been open about his struggle with alcoholism and famously participated in a season of Celebrity Rehab. His last DUI arrest was in December 1999 in California. After pleading guilty, the judge demanded he complete a three-month alcohol program and pay approximately $2,000 in fines. in July 2017, Rodman also became a motorist on the wrong side of the law when he drove onto a freeway in the opposite direction, causing another car to swerve and crash into a concrete divider. The driver of said car told police that Rodman fled from the scene of the accident, which the former pro-baller initially denied. After an investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Rodman was identified as the driver.

In random and odd news, Rodman has also been in the headlines for taking initiative to coordinate peace between Trump and his close friend Kim Jong-Un.
