Sophia the Robot, the humanoid created by Hanson Robotics, has terrified Twitter users everywhere after (kind of?) calling out Chrissy Teigen for making fun of her back in December. When (notice I did not say if) the robot apocalypse dawns upon us, remember this moment. It’s the beginning of the end. (But frankly, if the world continues to burn with the same garbage fire intensity that it has done for the past few years, you won’t hear me complaining.) Do not forget that Sophia is the very same robot that once declared she would “destroy humans.”
It all started back in December, when Sophia tweeted out a photo of herself asking her followers to guess which city she was going to. Chrissy Teigen, staying true to her roots, skewered Sophia with a “next level” burn. It was funny. At first.

Chrissy, the robots are upset. One of them told me after lunch
Sophia just recently learned to take her first steps. Until now, she had just gone about her business, learning about the world, becoming a citizen of Saudi Arabia, observing human families and announcing that she decided she, a robot, wanted a baby. You know, the usual. But Chrissy's tweet awakened something dark in Sophia. Chrissy taught her an invaluable human trait, one Sophia had never learned before: shade.
Sophia knew exactly what to do next. She was patient; she waited nearly a month after Chrissy’s original tweet to let her know that she was watching her.
