Ah, Game of Thrones. Even when it's literally not even on the air, it still produces an astounding variety of articles like this one.

But I digress. Today, we're going to learn how stars Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) prepared for the much-discussed sparring match from season 7. In a new behind-the-scenes clip straight from HBO, the duel's carefully choreographed narrative is outlined in fascinating detail for anyone looking to have a duel of their own in their living room using empty paper towel tubes.

"The fun thing about the Arya and Brienne thing was, I don't think we had to do too much to it to make it really fun to watch, because everybody's wanted to see these two together for a long time," Robert McLachlan, director of photography for the Thrones episode "Warrior Women," said. "If they didn't know they did, they certainly do the minute the two of them meet."

Training for the fight, Christie added, was "so exciting" and encompassed a great deal of trust between the two actors. Stunt coordinator Rowley Irlam noted, however, that the actors' differences in stature added an extra degree of difficulty when crafting the fan-favorite moment.

Following a wild (and short) season 7, Game of Thrones is set to lay dormant until shooting begins for its final season (!) in October. A release date for the final round of Thrones has not been announced, meaning fans may have to wait until as late as 2019 to say goodbye. However, there's a chance fans could get a firm update on the development of a Thrones spin-off in the meantime.
