Although she’s originally from LA, her role as Rachel Zane on USA network’s Suits means she had to locate to Toronto where the show is filmed. She shows off her impeccably decorated apartment and two adorable dogs on Instagram all the time. She told Hello! Magazine that some of her favourite spots in Toronto include Bar Raval and Dailo. She also said she loves Toronto because "There is no paparazzi so it’s really easy to just have a normal life where you are not getting dressed for the day and worried about that element of it.”

The Tig was a lifestyle site similar (but less pretentious than) Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop and Blake Lively’s Preserve. Although she shut the site down in April 2017—most likely partly due to the media scrutiny her relationship with Prince Harry was attracting—it was what she called her “passion project”. She wrote about things like food, travel, fashion and beauty and shared the things she loved with her fans. 

One thing Meghan has in common with Prince Harry is her humanitarian contributions. She’s been to Rwanda to help deliver clean water, spoken for the United Nations at International Women’s Day, written multiple op-eds for media outlets to raise awareness about issues that matter to her and encouraged her fans to get involved and make a difference too. 

In addition to inspirational quotes and pictures of her dogs and travels, Meghan’s Instagram is full of the food she’s cooking and sampling around Toronto and anywhere else she ends up. Her love of food has even been incorporated into her character on Suits.

Meghan’s style could be described as polished, low-key and classic. She was named a “brand ambassador” for Canadian retailer Rietmans in 2015 and she appeared in ads for them as well as lent her name to capsule collections of women’s apparel. The partnership has come to an end, but with her new high profile status, everything Meghan wears becomes a fashion statement.

Meghan married her long-time boyfriend, actor and producer Trevor Engelson in 2011 and only two years later filed for divorce. They had been together for seven years before getting hitched, but their careers kept them apart too much and ended up taking a toll on their marriage. Now, Engelson is reportedly working on a TV show about a man whose wife leaves him to date a prince. Sound familiar?

Serena and Meghan first met at DIRECTV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl to play a game of flag football. On her website The Tig, Meghan wrote, “We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff.” Meghan is regularly there in person to cheer Serena on during her multiple tennis championship wins and Serena has given Megan advice on how to deal with fame.

Meghan worked as a briefcase model for a single season of the US version of Deal or No Deal hosted by Howie Mandel. In 2013, she told Esquire that she never had the winning case. “I was the ill-fated number 26, which for some reason no one would ever choose. I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down."
