Actor Who Played Suge Knight Faces IRL Assault Charges

What’s up guys, Frazier here with Complex news. When tasked with playing characters based on real people, actors love to go method. But the guy who played Suge Knight in Straight Outta Compton has taken things a couple steps too far.   The actor in question is R. Marcos Taylor, who we’ve seen portray the notoriously aggressive Death Row Records CEO not once but twice now. In addition to Straight Outta Compton, Taylor brought the cigar out again for Lifetime’s Surviving Compton TV movie. You also might recall his recent work in memorable scenes from Luke Cage and Baby Driver. But, much like his subject he’s most notable for playing, Taylor’s been arrested on assault charges. TMZ reports that Taylor got into a heated argument at a restaurant in Greenbrook New Jersey, and he went full Suge during the altercation. Taylor reportedly struck the restaurant manager in the face *several* times and was so charged up, he had to be dragged out of the establishment by several employees. At some point during this fracas, he also apparently struck a woman on the side of her head. Taylor’s facing four counts of assault, a disorderly conduct charge and one count of criminal mischief. For his part, Taylor and his attorney are alleging Taylor was jumped and simply just defending himself. We’ll see how this all plays out but from the looks of it, this is a clear case of, dare I say it, life imitating art. That’s the news for now but for the latest on actors channeling their violent characters, subscribe to Complex News on YouTube today.
