When someone breaks up with their significant other, one of the first things people tend to do is get rid of any reminder of that individual in their lives. Photos are deleted. Gifts from the past are tossed in the garbage. It's pretty much a life clearance sale; everything must go.

Then, you sit in your profoundly quiet apartment, turn on Netflix for some sort of distraction, and see a couple movies and/or shows in the "Recommended For You" section that vaguely remind you of that person. Out of nowhere, you can faintly hear "Someone Like You" playing in the background, and those waves of feels wash over you all over again.

Netflix wants to make sure that you don't go down that rabbit hole of emotions after your next breakup. Just follow these simple steps below (via Mashable), and you're well on your way to moving on with your life.

“The answer is to go to your settings and remove your Netflix history,” said a spokesperson for Netflix.

After a 24-hour waiting period, you can turn on Netflix and carry on as if that person never existed. That is, until another painful remainder pops up in your life.
