Here’s Who We’d Cast In An All-Women ‘Fast & The Furious’

Taking notes from 2016’s ‘Ghostbusters,’ here’s our dream squad for the ‘Furious’ franchise.

Fate of the Furious Ladies

I was at a Christmas party a couple years ago when my friends and I decided to put on Furious 7, a fantastic movie for all seasons and holidays. At some point we got around to re-casting every character with acclaimed actresses, and what started off as a joke (“what if Helen Mirren was in the Fast & Furious movies?”) became a reality: Helen Mirren is actually in The Fate of the Furious. I’m frankly shook. Did we put that out into the universe and the universe actually granted our wish come true? If so, here’s with extreme wishful thinking that I reimagine the Furious crew with all ladies, and who knows, maybe one of them will be announced as a new cast member in the future. And if it just happens to be pure coincidence, pfft, whatever—it’s still fun fantasy-casting, as we did with the Ocean’s 8 ladies before Sarah Paulson was revealed as the eighth. (Which proves that fantasies can come true!)

Keeping all the ladies who are already in the F&F movies—Nathalie Emmanuel’s Ramsey, Charlize Theron’s cyber-terrorist Cipher, Jordana Brewster’s Mia (who isn’t in the new one, but exists as an offscreen presence), and of course, the irreplaceable Michelle Rodriguez as Letty—let’s cast aside the men and imagine these other women behind the wheels instead...
