On Tuesday, via a statement from his Facebook page, Ben Affleck announced to his fans that he has completed treatment for "alcohol addiction." In his message the actor/filmmaker said he wanted his kids to know there's nothing wrong with reaching out for help, and he also thanked his "co-parent" Jennifer Garner.

The two-time Academy Award winner previously sought help for alcohol abuse all the way back in 2001

Back in January, Warner Bros. stated that Affleck would not be directing the upcoming film The Batman. Of that move, Affleck said that directing would be a duty that "demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give." He also added that "It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs [directing and starring] to the level they require."

In February it was announced that Cloverfield director Matt Reeves would fulfill that position instead. Affleck will still be producing The Batman, as well as starring in it.

The release date for that is still yet to be determined.
