Despite having much more important things to do, Donald Trump fired off a few cheap shots at the new host of The Celebrity Apprentice, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and specifically the lack of interest he drew from TV viewers during his primetime debut on Monday night. While calling himself a "ratings machine" would seem beneath the office of Lincoln and Washington, it's almost certainly an indication of what Trump would rather be doing instead of prepping to become the next president:
For the record, Trump still has an executive producer credit on the show. Anyway, in response, Arnold fired off a few tweets of his own. See if you can sense some passive-aggression within them:
Arnold also posted this Abraham Lincoln quote that he read the Wednesday after the election, which he says inspired him daily when he was running California:
For those who are in public places without headphones, he said:
"We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature."
Don't be surprised if this petty back and forth continues.
