Okay. Confess. Who's out here downloading 'Game of Thrones' so religiously?

Game of Thrones has officially been named the most overrated show of all time. Just kidding. The HBO giant was once again declared the most pirated TV show of the year, according to a report from TorrentFreakcited by the Wrap on Tuesday. With Game of Thrones taking the 2016 throne (sorry), the series marks its fifth straight year as the most illegally-downloaded show on BitTorrent.

The traffic, TorrentFreakreported, was "roughly on par" with 2015 numbers. The highest number of Thrones heads "actively sharing" an episode across multiple torrents was 350,000. Predictably, that peak occurred just after the season finale popped up online.

Sliding in at No. 2 is The Walking Dead, a previously solid show that's battled some frustrated fans and a (possibly overdramatized?) dip in viewership since Negan showed up and brutally murdered a pair of fan faves earlier this year. Westworld, a newcomer on the list, managed to make it into the top three:

  1. Game of Thrones
  2. The Walking Dead
  3. Westworld
  4. The Flash
  5. Arrow
  6. The Big Bang Theory
  7. Vikings
  8. Lucifer
  9. Suits
  10. The Grand Tour

Speaking of Game of Thrones and Westworld directly competing against each other, Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has some thoughts on all that. "Being an HBO guy, I'm thrilled that to see that both Game of Thrones and Westworld have been nominated for the big prize," Martin wrote on LiveJournal (LIVEJOURNAL!) earlier this month after peeping the Golden Globes nominations, "though Westworld is going to be some tough competition. (In fact, I would figure WW for the favorite)."
