He caught the thief just like a fly.

It's a trend that's quickly expanded to most major cities in North America - street performers dressing up like their favourite fictional characters. The act can be fun for passersby, and for those donning the costumes as well. Sometimes however, the buskers in garb end up in unfortunate situations. It's easy to get involved with something dangerous, especially when you're standing in the middle of a busy intersection all day long. Just last week, a dude in a Cookie Monster outfit was stabbed while trying to break up a brawl in New York City. Perhaps this is why Sesame Street monsters need to leave the crime fighting up to the superheroes.

Toronto is home to a few big name superheroes, but the city's Batman seems to get the most attention. The caped crusader decided to hang up his cowl earlier this summer, but it appears as though citizens really don't need to worry. Mark Zilio has been Toronto's Spider-Man for four years, and on Monday afternoon, he took justice into his own hands.

"I never want to be involved in these sorts of things," Zilio told CTV News. Spidey did however, act when he noticed a woman shoplifting from a costume shop. The whole incident was captured on camera, and shows the hero apprehending the suspect, and awaiting police officers to arrive. I guess you could say, his Spidey senses were tingling.

You can watch the incident unfold below, via CTV's report.
