The game is scheduled to drop in Fall 2017 and a trailer for it will be released on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. ET. Rockstar didn't share many other details, but they did post this on the new RDR2 website:

The gaming world was sent into a frenzy after Rockstar Games posted a cryptic message on its social media platforms, teasing the highly anticipated third installment of the Red Dead series.

The gaming company, best known for creating the Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne series, shared a potential logo image on Oct. 16. The image illustrated the Rockstar logo with red background. It didn't mean much. But hardcore gamers immediately responded to the post with excitement and guesses of what the image could mean. Others attempted to guess the name of the third installment.

The new game will be a follow up to Red Dead Redemption, which was first released in May 2010. It's still unclear what this image means, and Rockstar Games has not given any other updates on the title of the forthcoming game or a release date.
