On the heels of a Luke Cage premiere so massive that it legit broke Netflix, Marvel and the streaming giant have ushered out the release date of their next original series, Iron Fist: March 17, 2017.

For those with a keen eye, you may have noticed there was a quick Iron Fist Easter Egg in the Luke Cage season one finale, in which Rosario Dawson's character Claire Temple picked up a flyer for self-defense classes being given by a Colleen Wing, who is not only a close ally to Iron Fist in the comics but also has ties to Misty Knight and Luke Cage.

Iron Fist stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, a billionaire Buddhist monk who inherited the power of the Iron Fist. While there isn't much in the way of news regarding the series' storyline, it looks like Rand will be returning to NYC after having been missing, and utilizing his powers to fight the evils in the city.

If you're a Marvel head who's keeping score, after Iron Fist drops, we'll have all four members of The Defenders aligned. Word is that The Defenders is set to be released in 2017. We might get some idea as to how Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Iron Fist link up and decide to form a squad.

And if you're really about this MCU, do know that Jon Bernthal's standalone Punisher series recently began filming. He has a beard. Take from that what you will.
