Could the long-awaited Bad Boys 3 finally start production this March? Martin Lawrence seems to think so. Though it kinda feels like this movie has been confirmed and called off more times than we can count, hearing Lawrence actually drop some specifics about a Bad Boy sequel is still pretty hype-worthy.

Lawrence hit up Jimmy Kimmel's ABC house on Thursday to talk about his new stand-up special, Doin' Time: Uncut. Naturally, Kimmel had to get in some questions about the future of his and Will Smith's beloved Bad Boys franchise. When asked what fans pester him about the most when they spot him in public, Lawrence took the opportunity to speak cautiously about the current plans for Bad Boys 3.

"The most is when we gonna do another Bad Boys," Lawrence said. "We're looking towards maybe, you know, March or so, hopefully. If we can get everybody together at the same time. I don't think there's a holdout, it's just a matter of getting the script right and everything and just doing it at the right time."

The last we heard of Bad Boys 3, officially (for now!) titled Bad Boys for Life, the projected release date had once again been delayed until Jan. 12, 2018. Joe Carnahan, the same dude behind Smokin' Aces and The Grey, is penning the script and holding down the director's chair. "Unless you're Toy Story 3, usually third ones aren't the strongest, and I think this one will be the strongest of the trilogy thus far," Carnahan toldGizmodo in August.
