They're calling it the "last prize you'll ever use". Peterborough radio station, Extra 90.5, lives up to their name with their latest giveaway - a free funeral. The sports talk network is allowing listeners to enter a contest, with a grand prize of a fully paid service at Ashburnham Funeral Home.

The only requirement from listeners, is the completion of an online form. Be sure to fill in your name, email, and birthday. Oh, and you'll also need to pitch a "totally unique funeral", and "the more creative, the better". We're not too sure what that means, but hopefully it's not as terrifying as this one. Heck, you might have to top this equally unnerving wake. If you're looking for inspiration, you could always pick an unconventional playlist. There's an entire Reddit thread dedicated to the matter. A highlight of the online discussion, has to be the recommendation of playing Darude's "Sandstorm" to get tears really flowing!

The Ontario radio station isn't the only one to offer this extremely strange prize. Back in 2011, a German outlet held a contest to cover a winner's passing. The catch? Listeners needed to submit their own epitaph. For what it's worth, the groundskeepers of the selected graveyard called it "completely tasteless".

While strange, the costs of a funeral service in Canada can be rather expensive. The average amount needed to cover a funeral in Canada, can range from $5000 to $15,000. So, debate the taste of this prize all you want, but it may not be the most ridiculous thing after all.
