The Earth rocked slightly off its axis on Friday when a report hit the web that Kim Kardashian might be voting for Donald Trump this November instead of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, with whom Kardashian has shared a copious number of selfies.
Rumor had it that Caitlin Jenner (who is a notorious Trump supporter) changed Kardashian's mind after a long chat. It picked up steam when the Huffington Post ran an article citing The Evening Standard and confirmed the validity of her quotes, but later clarified that her statement did not appear in the online or print version of her Wonderland magazine cover story.
To lay these concerns to rest, Kardashian released a statement on her website Saturday reaffirming that she's definitely still with her. Thank God that's all cleared up.
"I thought about the things that are so important to me that they outweigh everything else, such as gun control and protecting women's rights to safe and legal abortion. I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I'm with her," the statement reads. "I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job."
Kardashian noted that her conversation with Jenner was merely an open attempt at political dialogue, because "we owe it to ourselves, and to each other, to ask questions." She added that her phone "blew up" with messages from both candidates' camps. Oh, to be a fly on the wall when Kardashian read the Trump campaign's pitch to her.
"This year, I'm not just voting for myself, but also for my children, and I took that into careful consideration when I made my decision," the statement continued.
Could she be thinking of North and the ad Clinton's campaign released this week?
