Santa's back on top of the naughty list this year, as Billy Bob Thornton returns for the Bad Santa sequel 13 years later, reprising the role he famously portrayed in 2003. And boy is he bad! I haven't seen the first Bad Santa, but I'm under the impression that Thornton's character Willie been bad and stays bad and now he's back to do more bad stuff. He drinks, smokes, cusses, and fucks—all of the above in just the trailer alone. Watch the newly released red band trailer above, in which Thornton is reunited with his side-kick Marcus (Tony Cox) and The Kid (Brett Kelly), who is now 23 years old.
In Bad Santa 2, Marcus and Willie try to get into some trickster shit again by stealing from a charity. Their plans sort of get derailed by Willie's tough bitch of a mother (Kathy Bates). Christina Hendricks stars as Thornton's romantic interest, once again begging the question: Why can't Christina Hendricks get better roles?? (Someone other than Nicolas Winding Refn please cast her in something good ASAP.) Instead, here we get Billy Bob Thornton making lewd comments about her vagina and then having sex with her next to a literal dumpster. This is maybe a good time to remind you all that Billy Bob Thornton is an Academy Award winner.
Bad Santa 2 is directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) and is out Nov. 23.
