American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson is the eighth person to be cast for Ocean's Ocho, according toThe Hollywood Reporter. We maintain that our predictions are still good choices if they decide to expand the cast. Paulson was last on the screen in American Crime Story as prosecutor Marcia Clark in the O.J. Simpson trial.

Remember theOcean's Eleven franchise? The first one was dope, the second not so much, and the third one more or less redeemed the trilogy. As a bonus, all 3 movies featured a lot of shots of Brad Pitt munching on various snack items. Compelling! But there was one noticeable shortcoming of the Ocean's franchise: the movies were (mostly) just a bunch of dudes running around and doing heist stuff. But that's all about to change with Ocean's Eight, the women-driven spinoff that just added a bunch of huge names to its cast.

Though the movie is currently still casting and is one star shy of the "eight" referenced in its title, Deadlinereports that previously confirmed stars Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett are now expected to be joined by a downright masterful cast. Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina are all reportedly "close" to striking Ocean's Eight deals.

"I think it's a pretty similar tone," Ocean's Eight director Gary Ross toldSlash Film in June of the new film's relationship with Steven Soderbergh's trilogy. "Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren't. I don't think he would've wanted anyone to do it if we weren't. This is very much an extension and a continuation." Production on Ocean's Eight is slated to kick off in October.

For Rihanna, joining the presumed blockbuster is another in an increasingly long list of high-profile roles. In addition to starring as an "alien stripper" in The Fifth Element director Luc Besson's forthcoming Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Rihanna is also set to play the iconic Hitchcock character Marion Crane in the final season of Bates Motel.
