What’s the best way to beat the humid Atlanta heat?

How about a little Ice Cream Sunday in L.A.?

Last weekend, Complex teamed up with FX to celebrate its groundbreaking new series Atlanta. Born and cultivated in the incredible mind of Donald Glover, the show is destined to be one of television’s most innovative new offerings this fall. To reflect that spirit, Complex and FX solicited the help of the masterminds behind Ice Cream Sundays—ice cream sundae-themed events at which the industry’s top chefs, mixologists, and DJs convene—for the ultimate Sunday Funday party held at L.A. Koreatown speakeasy Lock & Key.

Things kicked off with a VIP pre-party at 1 p.m. where guests enjoyed complimentary Atlanta-themed drinks and bites, including the “Hotlanta Heat Wave,” “Atlanta Punch,” and “Sweet Southern Berry.” The rest of the guests were welcomed at 2 p.m. by a large mylar balloon installation that spelled out “ATLANTA.” After the party got underway, L&K screened the show’s long-form “mood” trailer, which features Glover’s character traversing through Atlanta. The good vibes continued with turnt DJ sets, customized Atlanta Snapchat action, and plenty of photo booth fun.

Check out some of the highlights from the Atlanta Ice Cream Sunday party in this article’s pics, and be sure to tune in to the series premiere of Atlanta on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 10 p.m. on FX!
