Fox has unleashed the trailer for the Lethal Weapon series it picked up for series last week. The show is a reboot of the buddy cop film franchise with Mel Gibson, who played Martin Riggs, and Danny Glover, who played Roger Murtaugh. Stepping into Riggs and Murtaugh's shoes are Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans respectively.

Like its namesake, Lethal Weapon will bring together Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs and LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh after the two survive life changing events. For Riggs, that's the loss of his wife and baby; and for Murtaugh, that's suffering a heart attack that forces him him to avoid stress in life.

The all-gas no-brakes trailer boasts the tagline "Partners can be lethal." That's quickly proven after Riggs stops a bank robbery and ignores a ticking bomb to grab an abandoned slice of pizza before he slowly exits the bank. "We're gonna make a great team," Riggs tells Murtaugh, introducing himself just seconds before the bomb goes off. If a heart attack didn't kill Murtaugh Riggs definitely will.

"I've seen a lot of crazy people before, but this dude is in a class by himself" Murtaugh tells Dr. Maureen Cahill (Jordana Brewster) about Riggs. And with good reason! Beside taking a robber's gun and pointing it at himself, Riggs is seen leaping from car to car during a high speed chase on a race track.

The trailer also previews the show's comedic moments with a suspect getting hit by a bus (a la Mean Girls) as Murtaugh tells him to surrender and Murtaugh and Riggs bickering.

Lethal Weapon will air this Wednesdays this fall.
