When The Walking Dead hit everyone with a POV cliffhanger in the Season 6 finale, the planet seemed to briefly tilt off its axis. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's take on Negan, judging by his harrowing introduction, is indeed set to become a classic Dead character. That POV cliffhanger, however, was frustrating enough for most viewers to forget all of that and continue obsessing about it until the series returns in October. The solution? That honor, of course, belongs to a timely petition.

"I would like AMC to show us who Negan killed in the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead," the petition's description reads. "We want this either in an interim episode that borders Seasons 6 and 7, or a short R-rated webisode that shows us the death in all its bloody glory." According to the petition author, "either of those" will do as long as the final product is made available before May 30. The petition, which has garnered nearly 1,000 signatures and an Uproxxco-sign as of publication time, is starting to make the usual petition rounds thanks to impassioned fan commentary such as this:

As reported on Tuesday, Negan's wonderfully bedazzled bat wasn't quite enough to protect Dead's Season 6 finale from a noticeable ratings hit. Though the finale still amassed a competition-crushing 14.2 million viewers on Sunday, Deadlinereports that’s actually a "more than 10 percent" dive in total viewership compared to last season's finale. Of course, nearly 70,000 fans signed a petition aimed at resurrecting Beth Greene back in 2014. The result? Beth Greene remains very much not alive on The Walking Dead.
