With Jay Z on speed dial, a burgeoning career as a R&B superstar, and an accidentally botched guitar solo on his hands, it is only natural that Complex's March 2016 cover star, Nick Jonas will perform on Saturday Night Live this evening. Jonas will be promoting his upcoming record Last Year Was Complicated, which — according to Jonas — was named by none other than his rapper-mogul best friend, Jay Z.
To promote the appearance, the "Close" singer sat down with cast member Aidy Bryant for a two-way Q&A, using questions taken from fans on Twitter. Though the questions were serious, Bryant and Jonas found a way to put a fun spin on things, in fact they both managed to bond over having brothers who were born in Arizona. However, they also made time for more serious questions such as "Are there certain songs that are difficult to perform due to their emotional meaning and depth?", and Jonas got nostalgic over a previous sketch with the Jonas Brothers and Alec Baldwin.
This is the first time Jonas has been on the show since he was in the Jonas Brothers, a Disney bubble gum Christian rock band with his brothers, Kevin and Joe. With Seinfeld, Veep, and Saturday Night Live veteran Julia Louis-Dreyfus hosting, it should be a fun one.
