When you think Earth Day, do you think Jeff Goldblum? You should. You really should. To really drive home this fact, 20th Century Fox generously released a fresh Independence Day: Resurgence trailer that's heavily laced with new footage and, ultimately, is another in a long series of upcoming reminders of just how much aliens really love landmarks.

A lot of people, but most importantly Jeff Goldblum, find themselves just blown away by the fact that it's been 20 whole years since the events of the original ID4 in this latest look at the Will Smithless sequel. "They like to get the landmarks," Goldblum notes, presumably while pondering which movie to sprinkle some Goldbum on next.

Earth Space Defense Director David Levinson, a.k.a. Jeff Goldblum, was even so kind as to offer a quick Earth Day PSA for anyone doubting the fact that our planet remains in dire need of protection:

This resurgence of an American popcorn classic will be aided by appearances from Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Bill Pullman, and (thankfully) Judd Hirsch. Though its title would imply otherwise, Independence Day: Resurgence is foregoing a July release in favor of a June 24 debut. More classic Goldblum is clearly on the horizon.
