As fans still debate Jon Snow’s fate, the reception for Game of Thrones’ season five finale has been overall positive. That’s because showrunners didn’t spend the entire season building up to that moment only for it come with very little resolution. The same can’t be said for The Walking Dead, which has earned the ire of fans after Sunday’s infuriating finale.

The hit AMC show’s hyped up season ending promised to be a bloody affair with the death of a main character looming overhead. Danai Gurira (who plays Michonne) teased that the episode would redefine the world "finale" and Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick Grimes) said that it kept him up at night. The episode was certainly horrific, but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of its trademark shock and gore, fans were treated to an hour of plot development followed by Negan’s stellar entrance and then a maddening cliffhanger which vaguely showed someone clobbered to death from a first-person perspective-but we’re not sure who.

As fans and critics alike come to terms with a lackluster finale, Youtuber BeBen pointed out its absurdity by recutting GOT’s infamous Red Wedding scene in the style of TWD’s universally panned finale. Spoiler alert: It’s not any less frustrating.
