Bill Murray, a floating vessel of joy among an otherwise cruel and unforgiving society, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to deliver another round of Murray-isms. Clearly in the spirit for a collab, Murray was joined at one point by his Jungle Book co-star Neel Sethi for a bear-championing take on the film’s classic "Bare Necessities" banger.
The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau, is an updated take on the 1967 Disney classic. That classic, of course, was based on the equally classic collection of Rudyard Kipling stories. Neel Sethi stars as Mowgli, with Bill Murray presumably not going full-method for his portrayal of Baloo the bear. The big-budget remake, which also stars Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson, hits theaters Apr. 15.
Thankfully, Murray also stuck around for more than just a blistering take on an American standard. Murray, the Creator also took the time to read one of his favorite poems by the late Lucille Clifton:
As for his tremendous blue pants, Bill Murray clarified that they were in fact given to him by his son:
As previously reported, Bill will also be seen later this year (in some capacity) in Paul Feig's Ghostbusters. Though the original buster of ghosts had stated for decades that the less-than-enthusiastic reception of Ghostbusters II had made him hesitant to hop into the action, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed back in August that some sort of deal had indeed been reached.
