Like being given the title "Knight" or "Dame" by the Queen, it's a high honor to be approached by Taylor Swift to join her squad—or maybe, it really isn't. At least that's the impression we're getting from Chloë Grace Moretz, who touched upon her opportunity to become one of Swift's besties, in our April/May cover story on the 19-year-old actress.

Considering her friendship with Selena Gomez—a high-ranking member in Swift's group—we were prompted to ask Moretz about her relationship with Swift. When asked if she knew Taylor, Chloë answered that she did, very aware of where the conversation was headed. "Did she, you know, ask you to join her squad?"

Rather than answer with a solid "yes" or "no," Moretz was smart enough to know that there are consequences in saying anything about Swift or her group that shouldn't be said, sort of like a conspiracy. Instead, "a smile spread across her moon-shaped face, the padlock that keeps whatever’s in her mind just right there, and she said, measuredly, 'She’s a very talented person.'"

It may not exactly be what we wanted to hear, but she did comment on squads in general, which at least gives us a little bit of insight. "They appropriate exclusivity. They’re cliques!"

It's enough to let us make our own assumptions.
