Bashy Has Been Cast in a Lead Role in the New Series of '24'

UK artists doing big things in America.

Skepta made his acting debut last year, Stormzy is in Brotherhood — is this the point that we really see UK artists start to jump in acting?

There’s another name to add to that list: Ashley Thomas, aka Bashy. He’s joined the cast of 24 relaunch 24: Legacy. The new show is a continuation of the old 24 continuity, but Keifer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer won’t be it. According to Deadline, he’ll have a lead role, playing the brother of the already cast Corey Hawkins (who played Dr Dre in Straight Outta Compton).

Deadline’s plot synopsis says that the new series:

Centers on military hero Eric Carter (Hawkins) and chronicles his return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back – compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. Thomas will play Isaac Carter, Eric’s older brother. Isaac is angry at Eric regarding their bitter past (which includes Eric now married to Isaac’s former girlfriend, Nicole (Anna Diop).

This isn’t Bashy’s first acting role by any means. He was in Top Boy, and several British films including My Brother The Devil, Shank and Cockneys vs Zombies. But a big role in a massive US TV series is a massive step up for him.
