In an impressive feat of synchronicity, The Walking Dead is set to unveil its midseason premiere on Valentine's Day with just enough southern zombie action to help you forget all about the crushing burden of love. Thankfully, for anyone overwhelmingly concerned with what exactly will be revealed in just the first four minutes of Sunday's episode, the search for answers ends with some last-minute generosity from AMC.
"I’m more excited than I’ve been for a long, long time," Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month. "We’ve been spending so much time looking inward and looking inside the walls, certainly in the Alexandria chapter. Now we’re looking to the horizon." As for what exactly the first four (admittedly Rickless) minutes of the season 6B premiere actually reveal, one thing is made immediately clear: Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha have certainly found themselves in a bit of a post-apocalyptic pickle.
Though AMC has already extended the Dead universe to include the equally massiveFear the Walking Dead (and that short series about a zombie-plagued airplane), the Powers That Be would appear to have even moreDead on the brain. "We wanted to create a place where they would bring us their creative dreams and bring us their passion projects," AMC network chief Charlie Collier told Vulture earlier this year. "If Robert [Kirkman] had another one, we would absolutely engage. This is a world that is rich enough to handle it."
