Raccoon spotted trying to hop a ride on TTC train in Toronto

Transit riders in Toronto hit Twitter on Tuesday morning after a masked bandit boarded a subway train during rush hour.

Several photos and videos were posted on social media of a raccoon trying to hop a ride on a southbound train from Spadina Station at approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Trains were briefly delayed until the raccoon got off the train and wandered down the platform and then disappeared into the subway tunnel. It's unclear how the raccoon got into the station.

"We have no idea how it got on the train," TTC spokesperson Brad Ross told CP24.com. "TTC facilities are fenced and secure against human intrusion, but animals do sometime make their way onto TTC property."
