With all the hype (and, you know, sexism) around the Ghostbusters reboot, including the news that all of the original Ghostbusters will make cameos in the upcoming film, fans couldn't help but notice the absence of a certain slimy green monster. Although rumors have circulated since August that Slimer would reappear in director Paul Feig's reboot, he did his best to quash them:

Sorry, gang. That IMDB credit is not true. Gotta unconfirm that one. https://t.co/xOzCwgpUEk

— Paul Feig (@paulfeig) November 15, 2015

But it turns out Feig's denial is a bald-faced lie. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Michael K. Williams confirmed that Slimer does indeed return—in fact, they're in a scene together. "I’m not going to lie, working with Melissa, and Kristen, and Kate, was really dope," he told the magazine. "But I got to work with Slimer, dude. Like, Slimer!!! I’m in a scene with Slimer! I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan and it was a dream come true."

Aside from gushing about his co-stars Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Kristen Wiig, Williams also gives some more details about his role in the film. "I play the FBI agent who works for the mayor," he said. "Our whole thing is, we’re going to tell the people it was a flash in the sky and 'Run along little women with your ghosts, we got this.'" Going off the events of the original film, we can all guess how well that turns out.
