As we already so valiantly informed you, sometimes the most radical way to subvert the Valentine's Day tomfoolery is to simply spend it with your peeps. Aziz Ansari and Jennifer Lawrence, according to a downright scientific breakdown from the detectives over at People, did exactly that by embarking on a non-date dinner together on Sunday night that victoriously included the only true superfood known to humans: nachos.

"[Ansari and Lawrence] looked friendly and were showing each other stuff on their iPhones and chatting and laughing," one purported witness tells People, adding that the two definitely consumed food while dining at the Commodore in Williamsburg, which makes perfect sense because people generally consume food when dining.

Thankfully, in a move that likely crushes whatever goofiness you and your current S.O. managed to pull together this weekend, Ansari and Lawrence reportedly enjoyed a nice variety of friendship-promoting snacks including but not necessarily limited to:

  • the aforementioned nachos
  • macaroni and cheese
  • fried chicken
  • some sort of sandwich
  • wine

As noted by People's detail-oriented detectives, the nature of this non-date dinner was most certainly "friendly" in nature, meaning it definitely serves as the template for how to properly celebrate Valentine's Day without feeling catastrophically corny.
