Star Wars: The Force Awakens, besides becoming the fastest film in history to reach $1 billion at the box office, is now the highest grossing film ever in North America. Even if everyone has been watching The Force Awakens not everyone has been liking the J.J. Abrams-directed installment. And if you happen to be one of those people then The Force Awakens star John Boyega's comments about what to expect for Episode VIII should help you look forward to the next step in the franchise.
Boyega, who played hero Finn in The Force Awakens, spoke to Vogue about Episode VIII saying:"[We're] just starting work on Star Wars VIII, the next film, so I'm back to keeping secrets again. It's great. Much darker, but we're very excited." The young star also offered insight on Finn saying audiences can expect him to be "more physical." "No, for [Force Awakens] we really just took it scene by scene, there wasn't a huge regime," said Boyega. "My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more."
Episode VIII is filming in Mexico per Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. In addition to Boyega, Oscar Isaac is returning to Episode VIII Kennedy confirmed. Star Wars: Rogue One, hitting theaters in December, will be tasked with tiding over fans until Episode VIII's May 26, 2017 release.
