Disney Boss Confirms Plans to Keep Pumping Out 'Star Wars' and Marvel Movies "Forever"

Forever is a mighty long time.

Disney CEO Bob Iger, presumably a very happy individual following the predictable but still exhilarating success of tiny indie filmStar Wars: The Force Awakens and the continued dominance of anything even remotely Marvel-related, has finally acknowledged the charmingly large elephant in the room: eternity.

"There are five Star Wars films - four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens - that are in varying stages of development and production," Iger tells BBC Newsbeat, confirming a bunch of stuff most people already knew. "There will be more after that, I don't know how many, I don't know how often." That's cool, Bob. But can you start using words and phrases like "eternity" or "forever" or "for the entire duration of human existence?"

"Marvel, you're dealing with thousands and thousands of characters," Iger says, inching closer toward a promise of eternity. "That will go on forever." Ah, yes. As the world around us continues to crumble into certain doom, we will at least be comforted by the consistent presence of new Star Wars and/or Marvel films from the dream factory otherwise known as Disney.
