UPDATE (1/29/16):

Despite hopes that reddit's favorite folk tale would be the focus of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology series, Entertainment Weekly reports a source has confirmed the rumors about American Horror Story's next theme are "not true." Speculation about the show's next plot line is something of a pre-season tradition for fans of the series, so this is par for the course. However it appears we'll still be guessing for a while before Murphy is ready to drop any breadcrumbs.

See original story below.

Depending on who you believe, the next season of American Horror Story could delve into the Slender Man folklore. For those who are unfamiliar, Slender Man is a tall, thin, blank-faced creature who wears a black suit. Like Fantastic Four’s Mr. Fantastic, he can stretch his arms at will according to legend. Unlike the comic book hero, however, he stalks children.

His origin story can be traced back to a 2009 Photoshop contest on the Something Awful forum in which participants were asked to turn regular pictures into creepy manips. The character became an internet fixture and even inspired a pair of teens to murder in its name.

Sources at Us Weekly tell them a script has been drafted and producers want to adapt it for the series. However sources at both Entertainment Weekly and E! News say this isn’t true at all. Either way, I think we can all agree he’d be the perfect addition to an already eerie show.
