It can be argued that life is the most twisted comedian to ever play the stage – or simply put ‘life’s a b****’. Someone should have told that to the Russian Deputy Prime Minster, Dmitry Rogozin, who ‘shoot himself in the foot’ days after tweeting his support for the National Rifle Association (NRA)

Rogozin, who is also the deputy head of Russia’s Military Industrial Commission and a special envoy for Russian President, Vladimir Putin, reportedly shot himself in the foot at a firing range. According to an unnamed source from Russian news agency Interfax, he “accidentally shot himself” whilst training at a shooting range which caused him to miss a cabinet meeting with Putin. The only way this story could get anymore hilarious / ‘gangsta’ is if he drove himself to the hospital ‘MC Neutrino style’.

A spokesperson for the Deputy Prime Minister was quick to dispel the notion that he had shot himself, instead claiming that he had injured himself playing handball. Quite frankly, we couldn’t find a less ‘gangsta’ way to get taken out of the ‘game’, even if it was true we’d probably push the whole ‘I shot myself like Chedder Bob from 8 Mile ’ angle as it makes you sound like more like a 'hard-as-nails-nut-job'. Albeit a 'hard-as-nails-nut-job' who clearly shouldn’t be handling firearms, although at least you have a valid excuse for not turning up to work.

Dmitry Rogozin is an avid gun enthusiast and often posts pictures of himself with guns on social media. His most recent posting is a picture of himself with members of America's most powerful right-wing gun lobbyist group the NRA, offering his support his support and admiration.

To add more irony to this incident, according to The Independent, on:

his profile on the Russian government website, he has written books on military strategy and politics and owns a gun with an engraved message to for “ensuring the release of hostages” in Chechnya.

He certainly does sound like a charming chap right? Like the once great DMX said “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”.
