After a super bleak and cliffhanger-filled season 5 finale, Game of Thrones is back with a tease of its sixth season, which will make its way back to HBO in April 2016. Running less than a minute long, the teaser trailer doesn't answer many questions, but features quick shots of the most pivotal moments in the fantasy drama's history. There's King Joffrey's death, glimpses of the horrifying White Walkers, and, at the end, a shot of fan favorite Jon Snow surrounded by a pool of blood.

Based on the George R.R. Martin's novels, Game of Thrones has become HBO's greatest success since premiering back in 2011. The show has received notice for its striking visuals, powerful ensemble cast, and it's overall brutality (no one's life is safe). In "Mother's Mercy," the final episode of the series' fifth season, many of the characters—both beolved and reviled—have uncertain futures.

(SPOILER ALERT)

After his army was defeated by the Bolton's, Stannis Baratheon faces execution at the hands of Brienne, who believes he must be punished for murdering his brother a few seasons back. As she prepares to swing her sword, the scene cuts. Across the sea, Jamie finally rescues his daughter/neice Myrcella, but as sweet as their reunion is, she suddenly begins to bleed from her nose. Like her brother she's been poisoned. Unlike her brother her fate is unknown. Finally, the last maybe-death occurs when Jon Snow is left bleeding after being betrayed and then repeatedly stabbed by his suppsoed fellow men of the Night's Watch. While this would kill pretty much anyone else, this is Game of Thrones, and we can't help but wonder if the teaser is trying to hint at something by closing with a close-up of Snow.

While we don't know what will happen to any of these characters, or our beloved Arya who was left blinded, at the least this brief teaser promises that everything will soon make sense.
