A British Muslim family on their way to Disneyland were stopped from getting on the plane by US authorities. Department of Homeland Security officials stopped the family at Gatwick airport on December 15, but gave no reason for why they wouldn’t let them board—despite have already been granted travel authorization online.

Of course, it is entirely possible that there was a genuine terror threat. But it comes amongst a growing number of cases of Muslims not being allowed to enter the US, often without explanation. Aides to David Cameron say that he will examine the incident, and the case was raised by Labour MP Stella Creasy. “Online and offline discussions reverberate with the growing fear UK Muslims are being ‘trumped’ – that widespread condemnation of Donald Trump’s call for no Muslim to be allowed into America contrasts with what is going on in practice,” she wrote in a piece for The Guardian.

David Cameron has previously called Donald Trump’s calls to stop all Muslims from entering the US “stupid, divisive and wrong”.

Homeland Security officials did not respond to The Guardian’s request for a statement on why the family was refused entry.
