Protestors rallied againstDonald Trump hosting Saturday Night Live outside the NBC Studios shouting "Shut it down!" before he was set to appear. The organization Deport Racism even offered a $5,000 bounty to the SNL audience member who yelled "Racist!" during Trump's episode. Larry David took that offer seriously because he was the only person bold enough to actually do it. Well, kinda because it was all scripted.
Even though the co-creator of Seinfeld probably doesn't need the money, he's going to be rewarded the cash for delivering the line during the Republican candidate's monologue. Trump asked why he was shouting and David answered, "I heard if I did that, they'd give me $5,000." Boy was he right. The Deport Racism group tweeted that whether or not David was joking, they're going to pay him.
The Deport Racism site makes it clear why they planned to offer the "bounty" to anyone brave enough to speak up. "This is a chance to turn Trump's appearance on the show into a media story that addresses his racist comments against Latinos," the website states. Despite the organization's efforts in shutting down Trump, SNL actually reached an all-time high. The sketch comedy's ratings were the highest they've been since 2012.
