Just one day into a fresh new week, and we're already two compelling mom stories deep. The woman in the Mirror-obtained footage above, shown crashing her moped into another bike during a low-speed collision in Paraguay, apparently thought that driving with one hand and holding a baby in the other was a terrific idea. At the risk of spoiling the video's twist ending, that moped method is in fact not a terrific idea.

Though the baby was reportedly left without injury following the accident, the mother—identified by local authorities as 19-year-old Maria Ojeda Basualdo—promptly turned herself in following the clip's release. According to the Mirror, she faces possible fines, a driving ban, and as much as three years in prison for "exposing a child to danger."

Sure. We're usually armed with the jokes when it comes to snappy footage of people doing ridiculous things, but this one warrants no such response. It's just, quite simply, maddeningly reckless. Do better, moped drivers.
