It might seem like a normal week for you but for the gaming community it's Halo 5: Guardians week.

What the Grand Theft Auto series is to the modern day sandbox game, the Halo franchise is to the modern day FPS. Ever we since stepped into the boots of John-117, aka The Master Chief, we haven’t looked back as we tore through the legions of Covenant and Flood spawn and then proceeded to school some newbies (or in some cases get schooled ourselves) on the online multiplayer arena.

Unlike it’s other FSP contemporaries á la Call Of Duty and Battlefield, the Halo franchise doesn’t need to spam the video games market with endless yearly titles. Each series in the Halo franchise is a gem and Halo 5: Guardians is no different. In fact it’s the most complete game in the series to date with developer, 343 Industries, upping the ante in both multiplayer and campaign mode.

With its first appearance on Xbox One, Halo has been taken a whole new level. Here's 5 things you need to know about Halo 5: Guardians.

1. Master Chief takes a backseat

2. Teamwork is more important than ever before

3. The new Hydra Launcher might be the best 'Halo' weapon yet

4. The new 'Warzone' mode is total chaos

5. Multiplayer mode is made for 'Halo' veterans
