Alleged Kings Cross Drug Dealer "Mr Ice" Arrested, Set To Face Court

A 52-year-old man was arrested and will face court for being the main supplier of ice in the Kings Cross Area.

A 52-year-old Kings Cross man, known to his clients as “Mr Ice”, will be trialled in Sydney’s Central Local Court Thursday morning. The man is alleged to be, funnily enough, the primary supplier of ice, or methylamphetamine, in Sydney’s notorious nightclub strip Kings Cross.

He was arrested after a surveillance operation on Wednesday afternoon, and when searched, was carrying prohibited drugs on his person. The man has also apparently been quite busy, with allegations that he supplied the drug 146 times over a 21-day period, and was well known among drug users in the area.

The capture led to his charging at Kings Cross Police Station with ongoing supply of a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited drug, and dealing with proceeds of crime. As a result, he was refused bail prior to his appearance in court on Thursday. The heavily-resourced campaign against the aptly-named dealer likely implies a swift decision in regards to his future. But, with a nickname like that, the next round of reporting will surely be to simply detail his eventual transformation into a Batman-esque supervillain, right?
